December/January

I know we are already in mid-January but let me jump back to December so I can get you guys caught up. December was full of friends and family. We were blessed by our angel when we received a gracious gift to help us through the holidays. If our angel is reading this, THANK YOU one hundred times over. To us "thank you" doesn't seem sufficient enough but we just don't know what else to say. You truly blessed us this Holiday. We had family come into town for Christmas...Chris's cousin surprised us all.

Story Line:
Chris's aunt always comes up for Christmas from down south. The family down south consists of Uncle Danny, Aunt Renee, David (lives in St. Louis), Michael (lives down south), and Sarah (still lives at home). This year it was only Aunt Renee and Sarah who came up...all the other boys were unable to come due to jobs. Well, Christmas Eve we had our family Christmas at Chris's grandma's house. Towards the end of the night, David walks in and totally surprises everyone (he's the one from St. Louis). David hasn't been able to come to Amarillo for Christmas for 2 years so he surprising us all was a great gift. Aunt Renee was totally blown away to see her son walk through that door. Of course the funny thing was that the entire evening Aunt Renee and David had been texting back and forth and I guess David had Renee thinking he was totally drunk and couldn't find his car. Of course that was a huge joke because he ended up walking through the front door just hours into their conversation. We had a wonderful Christmas being able to spend it with our family.

So that's my big Christmas story. You would've had to have been there because it was quite moving.

Chris is still working two jobs...like I said before in my blogs he is getting worn out. Last week he had the week off - minus Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - but we were able to enjoy four nights w/ Dad.

Bradley is going to be turning 4 years old in February. I already have his cake ordered and his party booked. I have everything planned so I don't stress out when it gets closer.

The beginning of January was a very rough one for us. We had made the decision to move out of our apartment due to the rent going sky high. We found ourselves a little house that we thought would be great for us. We signed the lease on January 1st, on January 2nd we found out from a neighbor that the house we were currently moving into had been raided by SWAT 2 weeks prior to us moving in. They found $12,000 worth of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. We went straight to our landlord and discussed the situation at hand. We wanted out of our lease because we did not feel safe living at that house. Especially since Chris works nights and me and Bradley are home alone all the time. So long story short, we ended up being out a lot of money and we ended up moving out of that house 2 days after we moved some of our stuff into it and found a different house. Throughout the following days after our fall out with the previous landlord, he has threatened us with suits and other ridicoulous things. He wouldn't give us our money back and overall was a complete jerk. We have now settled into our new home...it's small with a nice back yard which is something we haven't had before.

Well that's the most current update for now. Hopefully I can get better at this by keeping you guys updated. Here are some pictures...enjoy.

Test Results

Well, this past Tuesday I went back to Dr. Rivera and found out the results of my tests. It seems that I do have blockage. Now when I say blockage, I don't mean cholesterol blockage. What is happening is my heart is beating too fast for my valves to open and shut properly so the blood flow to my heart is not getting to the necessary areas. If it continues any longer, I could be looking a some BIG problems. I have been put on Metatoporol which is a beta blocker. I will try this dosage for 6 weeks and then go back in and see if there is any progress. If in 6 weeks there is no change, he will up my dosage and we'll do another round of 6 weeks. Due to all of the medicines I already take, Dr. Rivera will only up the medication that one time, after that a heart calve will take place (that if there is no change). Please continue to pray. I had to get a blood pressure cuff because the medication also lowers the blood pressure so I have to monitor it to make sure it doesn't get too low. Again, both Chris and I know that God will supply our needs but this time seems to be the hardest. Especially with the expenses of doctors and medications and new equipment. Chris and I are praying that our thoughts will be eased and regardless of the surrounding issues, we will have a wonderful Christmas. How exciting is this, we get to celebrate the birth of Christ!!! Ugh...just so amazing. Chris has been so supportive, even though we don't see him as much anymore. He's been working hard...this past week he has been working at Mail Source all day and then working at Applebess until about 11:00 p.m. and then pulling double shifts on the weekend. He's so tired but continues to have a great attitude. I've been trying to rest but it seems that my list of things to do just keeps growing and growing. I've been getting in one to two naps during the weekend and one nap during the week days (usually right after I get home from work) and yet I don't have a problem falling asleep at night. That's just some of the symptoms of my heart stuff...tired, weakness, etc...

Anyways, I'm gonna wrap this up. I hope everyone remembers what we're really celebrating this Holiday.
