Colorado Trip...

This is the view you see on your way up to my Grandparent's house. God's gorgeous work.

Our Memorial Weekend was absolutely wondeful. Chris, Bradley and I traveled to Colorado (where I grew up). I haven't been home in years so this was a very meaningful trip. We stayed at my aunt's house who was such a wonderful hostess to us. We arrived around 1:30 a.m. Colorado time-2:30 a.m. Texas time on Saturday morning. Saturday we did some erands with my aunt and then my cousin took us to some stores. It was nice seeing the city again. Sunday was my favorite day and very emotional day. We braved the mountains and went up Berrthud Pass (a steep pass up the mountain which is the only way to the Winter Park-Granby area) so I could show Chris and Bradley my grandparents house. Last time I was up there was three years ago and it was unfortunately a sad time. We arrived at the house 45 mintues after we got off the pass, first time we were abe to relax without thinking of falling off the road into a 1000 foot revine. Quite scary! The house looks good, the water lines froze last winter causing the water line to actually burst at the seams! A little remodeling was needed after that incindent and it turned out wonderfuly! Definitely hard for me to see because parts of the house doesn't even look like my grandparents house but I guess that's also part of moving on. After the house, we took a 30 minute drive to Grand Lake, CO. It's a itty bitty town full of shops that are right on the lake. We spent a good 2 and a half hours there enjoying a good pizza and watching Bradley put his feet in the water when he thought we weren't looking! Monday we went to the Denver Zoo. We took Bradley and my little cousin and had a BLAST! Again, Bradley's favorite part of the zoo was the snakes-can't blame him-he's very much a boy. We were there most of the morning and into the afternoon. That evening my cousin, Chris and I went to see Indiana Jones 4. For those of you who haven't seen the movie, it was worth seeing- for those of you who have seen it already, I definately want an open discussion about the movie.

Overall we had a wonderful time being in the place where I spent my childhood. I loved seeing my family and I loved sharing the wonderful memories I had. Thank you to all who where praying for a safe trip for us-God does answer prayers! Both trips there and back where very easy going. I miss Colorado already--hopefully this time we won't stay gone so long!

Please check out the Colorado album so you can see our pictures!

Mother's Day

Chris, Bradley, and I spent almost ALL afternoon at Medi Park. We had soooo much fun feeding the ducks, running with the dogs, and enjoying the wonderful weather. The boys had flowers delivered to my office and everyone there is still enjoying the smell of gorgeous pink flowers. I just had such a wonderful day Sunday and I thank God every time I get to spend with Chris and Bradley.

Poem For Soldiers Wives

Quite Hero
She wakes very early, he's leaving today,
She will stand tall and proud as he's walking away.
He glances back warmly at his children and wife,
Knowing they will bravely carry on with their life.
Her strength and her courage only one understands,
He is walking away with her heart in his hands.
For he knows that without it he would be lost,
But they both know freedom comes at a cost.
Swallowing tears for the one she loves most.
This quite hero does not walk into war,
She soldiers on behind her front door.
She will move through her life the wind at her back,
Determind to keep her family on track.
Her tears fall in silence while she lies in her bed,
Her fear is right there but nothing is said.
She will ask that no medals be pinner to her chest,
Her husband's safe return her only request.
Few understand her commitment, her life,
She is the quiet hero, the brave Soldier's wife.

Our Little Bowler

We enjoyed an afternoon of bowling at Rien's birthday party.  It was Bradley's first time to bowl and he had an absolute blast. His first score in his entire life was an 89! Not bad!!!
